Built by people who care.
Erlend came across brainwave entrainment through his neuroscience studies and couldn't shake one observation: every product built around it was a mess — overbuilt, overpriced, and designed as if the user were a lab subject. We got the chance to try a rudimentary setup in a lab at NTNU. We could feel it working, and we could see it reflected in the EEG readings. That was enough.
Since then, we've spent our time studying and iterating — building down to the essentials until what remained was something minimal, sleek, and genuinely usable. Our first production batch is on the way. We're building Thetamask for people who can't switch off at night, who need to decompress during the day, and who are curious about meditative states without the years of practice.

Erlend Monsrud
MRes Cognitive Neuroscience · Donders Institute, Radboud
Erlend leads concept development, research design, and EEG analysis. His work at one of Europe's leading brain research institutes gives Thetamask its scientific foundation and ensures every claim we make is grounded in real evidence.

Gustav Skrefsrud
Digital Business Development · NTNU
Gustav builds the full stack — firmware, app, BLE connectivity, and OTA updates. He's also involved in shaping Thetamask's strategy, branding, and go-to-market alongside the team.

Hauk Bjørneklett
Mechanical & Energy Engineering (Sivilingeniør) · NTNU
Hauk designed and built Thetamask's prototypes from scratch — integrating LEDs and an ESP32 PCB directly into a sleep mask. He has just completed the 3D model for the first production batch.
Thetamask is a pre-beta product currently in development. All three founders are actively involved in pitching, branding, and business strategy alongside their primary roles.
